CISGNA Educational Grant
The Following Grants are Available Yearly:
Tuition Assistance - $1000.00 per year
ABCGRN Certification (certification cost, study guides)
National Conference (2 nights’ accommodations and course fees)
Gastroenterology/Endoscopy Conference Fees
Mission Trip for Gastroenterology/Endoscopy

Eligibility Criteria

Must be a current member of CISGNA (Voting Licensed Nurse/Voting Associate), with a membership of at least one year.

Must be currently employed in Gastroenterology/Endoscopy, with a minimum of one year.

Must demonstrate active or past involvement in the Central Illinois SGNA Region, hospital or unit committee with the task of improving Gastroenterology or Endoscopy

Have not received any grants in the past two years of the application year.
Performance Criteria
The candidate has made important contributions in direct patient care in the following areas:

Consistently demonstrates commitment to high standards and competence in direct patient care, utilizes the SGNA standards for practice, and demonstrates care and compassion towards the direct needs of the patient.

Demonstrates clinical competency and leadership by serving as a preceptor, mentor or role model for peers.

Actively participates in programs, research, committees, or projects, and maintains current knowledge of changes and advancement in the Gastroenterology/Endoscopy nursing practice.

Supports and recognizes importance of Certification in the field of Gastroenterology/Endoscopy.

Provides a Letter of Recommendation from one or more of the following whom the applicant currently works under: Supervisor, Manager, APP, or Physician.

Applications for each separate year are accepted online. The deadline for submissions is February 1 at 8:00 pm. Grant recipients will be formally announced at the Spring CISGNA Conference and/or the CISGNA website by March 1 of each year. ​

*The availability of funds for grants will be determined yearly by the CISGNA Board of Directors.
